NATIONAL INNOVATION VISA

GTI was replaced by NIV.The National Innovation visa (subclass 858) (NIV) is a permanent visa

for exceptionally talented migrants from across the world. These migrants will help create

jobs and drive productivity growth in key sectors of the Australian economy

Priority 1

Exceptional candidates from any sector who are global experts and recipients of

international ‘top of field’ level awards.

Example: Awards for exceptional and outstanding achievements that are available in

all fields. These include but are not limited to:

Awards (Very reputed awards at highest level)

Recipients of national research grants

Keynote appearance at a high-profile international conference

PHD / Research holders(at International platforms)

Priority 2

Candidates from any sector nominated on the approved Form 1000 by an expert

Australian Commonwealth, State or Territory Government agency.Any Sector can be

under this Priority.

Form 1000

Nomination from a very well reputed nominator with international standing

in their field

Nomination from the entrepreneurial activities lead to the commercialisation

of a product or service in Australia, particularly where linked to

Commonwealth, State or Territory based innovation hubs.

Nomination from a phd holder/research activity person.

Nomination from the Australia computer society/Engineers Australia

Nomination from any Government / State Agency

Threshold Income

The primary applicant's current earnings are an amount equal to, or greater

than, the high income threshold.

Priority 3

Candidates with exceptional and outstanding achievements in a Tier One sector

with requirement of Previuos GTI EOI.

Tier one Sector:

Critical Technologies: This includes artificial intelligence, advanced robotics and

cyber security technology ,Architech,all ICT related occupations(DIGITECH )

Renewables and low emission technologies: Circular Economy e.tc.

Health Industry: Innovation in medical manufacturing and sovereign

capabilities in medical science

Priority 4

Candidates with exceptional and outstanding achievements in a Tier Two sector with

requirement of Previuos GTI EOI.

Defence Capabilities and Space

Education

Financial Services and FinTech : innovations in application programming/

blockchain engineering / FinTech cyber and data security/financial data science

and analysis/software engineering.

Infrastructure and Transport

NIV VISA Stage: Visa Fee as per DHA Norms

NIV EOI Stage : 24 months Validity
